Fillets for Families Update: October 1, 2020

This week over 600 pounds of wild caught Lake Michigan whitefish and lake trout fillets will stock local food pantries.

Why: We started the Fillets for Families Food Drive in Spring 2020 in response to the increased demand on are food pantries due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Our Goal: To donate 1,000 pounds of fish fillets to local food pantries by November 1. As of September 30, we only need 375 more pounds to meet our donation goal!

How does the Food Drive Work? Eric and myself have committed to donating 1,000 pounds of Lake Michigan fish fillets to area food pantries. We are asking Fish Folk to help us offset the cost of this donation by Paying It Forward.

We are only 375 pounds away from our 1,000 pound goal!

How to Pay It Forward: Pay It Forward contributions/donations can be made directly to The Fish Monger’s Wife, LLC online or in person at the fish market. If you would like a charitable donation slip let us know so the receiving pantry can send you a slip.

Participating Food Pantries

  • Mission for Area People
  • Salvation Army Muskegon
  • Muskegon Rescue Mission
  • Hesperia Community Food Pantry.

If you would like your donation made to a certain pantry please tell us at the time of donation. Otherwise the fish will be donated equally among the pantries.

Thank you for your generosity to us and to fellow Fish Folk in need.

Ciao,
